Awesome recipe! I’ve made these three times now and they turn out crispy every time. I’m experimenting with new flavors now. Thanks! What a find!
Thank you so much! I am glad you like them! I am excited to see what you make!
WAAAAAAAAY to salty to the point they were inedible! Are you sure on the measurements? I even omitted the onion salt b/c I didn’t have any and just used the 2 tsp of regular salt. I had to throw them away.
I’m sorry you had a bad experience with this recipe! I use Pink Himalayan Sea Salt, so if you used regular table salt that could be why they were too salty.
Hi! I see you are adding 1tsp with the water & then another tsp before cooking… but what about the rest!? 🙂
Thank you!
Karen
Great question! Half of the seasoning is used in the water while its soaking and then the last half of the seasoning is mixed in after the flax seeds soaked up the water and then you bake it. 🙂
Ok so the second half is more than 1 tsp like stated in the recipe, right? Thanks!
Karen
No there are just 2 tsp of each seasoning. So one tsp of each seasoning in the water and then one tsp of each of the seasoning after the seeds soak up the water. You’re welcome!
Got it! They were too salty for me as well 🙁 I’ll adjust for next time as I really like the texture & Will remake them for sure!
Thanks again,
Karen
I only have ground flax seed can this be used too?
Yes absolutely! They will just look different but still taste great!
Which brand of flaxseeds do you use?
I usually use the flax seeds you get out of the big containers in the assorted nuts and seeds area at Sprouts, Smiths, Albertsons. I wouldn’t know what the brand name is but you can use any of them 🙂
I read the comments before making these and decided to cut the salt back to just 2 tsp and no onion salt. Omg still so salty, and I’m a salt girl. I would scale back to one tsp next time. Great crunch though!
Thank you for the feedback I have updated the recipe! 🙂
How long do these keep and what’s the best way to store them?
They can definitely hold for a couple of weeks! I just store them in a zip lock bag in the pantry.
Is the nutrition info for the whole batch?
The nutrition facts are per serving. The whole batch is 1 cup of flax seeds and I put down about 6 servings but you can break up more servings for less calories. 🙂
Are these similar at all to the foods alive brand power crunch flax crackers? Searching for a recipe to mimic those 😋 thanks.
That’s a great question! I think they are pretty similar and they taste amazing! Of course 🙂
